The United Kingdom has been gripped by the most nail biting election in many years. David Cameron's Conservative Party has won the most seats and the highest percentage of the vote while Gordon Brown confounded critics by avoiding the meltdown predicted by many.
Of course the story of the election was the rise of the Liberal Democracts following the Prime Ministers debates and 'Cleggmania' entering the dictionary. While the Lib Dems did not do as well as they had hoped, with just 57 seats despite a 23% share of the vote, they are in the historic position of being king maker to the next UK Government.
